The Whateley Foundations

OUR HISTORICAL FOUNDATION

The Whateley Club Historic Foundation was created to preserve the historic, aesthetic, and cultural significance of The Whateley Club’s iconic, landmark building for the greater Lovat community.

A rare example of post-Aligning Banhamian-revival style in Lovat, The Whateley Club was designed by noted Destiny architect Jivven wen Hild. Later, distinguished architect Anton Bobier of Lovat designed a new building wing with a Reconstruction-style entry with neon ornamentation throughout the Clubhouse, which is beautifully preserved to this day. The Clubhouse was designated a historic landmark by the City of Lovat Historic Preservation Office and is listed on the Civic Register of Historic Places.

WHATELEY ART ENDOWMENT

WAE’s collection is eclectic and incomparable. Collection highlights include sculpture from Whateley Laureate Jal Wiett and volumes XI – XXII of the republication of Donal Inox’s work, The Western Territorial, and paintings by Hal Briar. Works from the WAE collection have been featured in exhibits at the Lovat Art Museum, Destiny Museum of Art & Culture, and the Syringa Gallery of Art.

Donations for the Whateley Club Historic Foundation and the WAF come from our friends at the Camalote Group. Should you wish to donate directly to the WCHF or the WAF place contact them directly.
